Disorganized booking and less than average treatment. I have gone to Nakai many times over the years and have been disappointed the last few times. The one thing they do well and consistently is pedicures but the rest leaves a lot to be desired. I am sending a separate note to the owner with experience details and suggestions for improvement. I received a gift card and products for Christmas otherwise would not have gone based on my previous experience in the last 2 years as staff turnover always resulted in my finding someone I liked but they never seemed to stay. Nakai does not offer online booking and response times to emails is spotty. I had 6 calls to finally getting a booking and was told NO on multiple requests over and over only to find out some of what I wanted to do was possible and my appointment times changed 3 times. The girl answering the phones did not know how long treatments took, which treatments could or couldn't be combined (no explanation as to why) and answered NO or YOU CAN'T immediately before even reading the menu. After getting there I had to wait 30 minutes (I was 15 minutes early for my appointment as you should be and the girl was running 15 minutes late). The overall treatment was disappointing - was to last 2 hours with the $60/30 minute add on and we were done in less than 90 minutes. The pedicure after was fine. I know it is Saint John so we are not at the forefront of modernization but I have been to spas all over the world and while this could be considered "nice" for Saint John not sure they would be in business in a large city. My husband spent over $400 and have to say I am pretty disappointed. What was meant to be a very relaxing day out of a very hectic life was a stressful fiasco. I would look for some place else to unwind or just go for the pedicure and don''t invest in the rest.Just to note - business hasn't bothered to respond or acknowledge review but sent me their "we miss you" newsletter. I asked to be removed from their mailing list and told them that I hadn't heard from their manager and wouldn't be spending any more money there and they replied "That sounds great. Thanks" - The worst customer service EVER. Try The Spa in Rothesay - I hear it is amazing and all my co-workers go there and avoid Nakai like the plague.
My 4 kids spoil me all the time!! I used the Nakai massage, that they gave me for Mother's Day, after work today !!! AWESOME !! She (Jenna Bull, RMT) was wonderful !! Way more knots loosened than I even thought I had. Perfect for the day I had today. Thank you Tiffany, Brandi, Dana, and Cooper
Wonderful experience. I was well taken care of while getting my hair coloured. I received a gift card as a Christmas present but I will definitely come back :) a hand message, a cup of tea, and all of the little extra things, as well as amazing hair service, made it an awesome experience!
Very disappointed about the service. My wife and her friend went there last weekend to do the hair cut and colour. My wife's friend was told that the colour may not be the same as the colour book as her hair was too dark. BUT the result was there was NO change on the hair colour. My wife talked to the store after, and requested to either refund the portion for the hair colour or re-do the work. The answer from the store was they discounted the service by $10 already. Such a "GREAT" discount! We never heard anything back after the supervisor promised to talk to the owner. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS STORE AND TELL ALL THE FRIENDS NOT TO GO TO THIS STORE!!! Saint John is such a small town and we can't believe that a local store treated the customer like that.
I just had a therapeutic massage by Jenna and it was literally the best massage Ive ever had! (And Ive had quite a bit) I would recommend her to anyone!
