Stayed on August 10Pool: My family was really looking forward to the hot tub and the kids, the waterslide. Sadly both were out of order.Pool water was cold and lots of hair in it. The kids barely swam and got out after 10 minutes.Walls: I read the reviews about the "paper thin walls" but didn't really buy it. Its true, the walls and floors are lacking soundproofing.Beds: Beds and pillows are very comfortable. I read about some guests not having clean sheets but ours appeared clean.**Overall because the pool appeared unclean and was cold I would try somewhere else next time.**
Nice hotel. Clean rooms. Reasonable prices. Close to stores, bars and restaurants. Lots of parking. Excellent free breakfast with your stay. Pool for the kids.
If you are traveling with children, you will find this a very convenient location. The room I booked had a king bed, hideaway bed, and plenty of room to set up a pack-n-play. The kids enjoyed the pool. A complimentary breakfast is provided, and there is a Sobey's grocer and pharmacy next door. All of that made this a comfortable stay for us as we traveled with our children. The property is clean and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Disappointing. We stayed in some sort of junior suite (king bed + pullout couch) for me, my husband, our young daughter and our elderly dog. The room was a decent size, with surprisingly high ceilings, and the location on the ground floor near a side door was perfect for letting the dog out. However, there were a few issues. When I pulled out the couch, the sheets were a mess and I am 99% certain they'd been slept on.When I went to the front desk, the clerk told me she was the only staff member on duty so I'd need to make up the bed myself. Then she had to fetch the sheets herself from down the hall, which meant I got glared at by all the people in line behind me. (ONE staff member on duty at 9pm for a 70-room hotel in the summer high season?? She was perfectly friendly and trying hard, but what kind of misguided cost-saving measure leaves a single staffer for a whole hotel?)Got back to the room to discover there were no blankets for the pullout bed, either. And the pullout couch mattress was about 2 inches thick - super uncomfortable.I see a previous reviewer mentioned the paper-thin walls, and it's true. We could hear the people upstairs walking/talking the whole time - I've never actually experienced that total lack of soundproofing in a hotel before.I will say that my daughter (aged 5) loved the waterslide. But we won't be back in a hurry.
Hotel seems very new. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are also nice. Service was good, and breakfast was perfectly fine. A great place to stay as a stop along a road trip, or for a few days.
